A generic Gantt view type for any Odoo model.

Odoo 19 Community Enterprise OPL-1 Free

Odoo Community has no Gantt view type at all, and Odoo's own web_gantt is Enterprise-only. This adds one the same way Community's web_hierarchy adds its view type, so any model can use it — yours included.

Use it on any model

Installs safely next to Enterprise

The type is called do_gantt, not gantt, on purpose. Claiming Odoo's name would break an Enterprise database: the JS registry raises on a duplicate key, and view validation dispatches on the tag name, so each module's validator would be applied to the other's views. Verified on a database running both.

Mistakes are caught at install, not in the browser

Missing, non-existent or non-date date_start / date_stop
Mixing a date with a datetime, which silently shifts every bar by the timezone offset
A non-numeric progress field, or a dependency field that is not an x2many on the same model
An unknown scale, or a default scale outside the offered ones

Each of those would otherwise render an empty chart with nothing in the log.

Independent implementation

Written against the Odoo Community sources. It contains no Enterprise code, markup or assets and depends on no Enterprise module. See NOTICE.md in the module for the provenance audit.
